The USERCFG file needs to be modified manually to change the monitoring parameters for the existing entities
or to add user application information. You can edit the USERCFG file to remove units you do not want to
monitor, change trend flag status, or add additional units.
Use the following guidelines to edit the file:
• Entities are stored in the USERCFG file by domain type.
• Each domain type has a unique syntax for its units. The syntax is described in comments preceding
each domain type. Entries must follow the appropriate syntax.
• Each unit has a Trend Flag. If the flag is on, SystemTrend data is collected. If the flag is off,
SystemTrend data is not collected and the unit is excluded from trend analysis reporting.
• The maximum number of units per domain is 4000.
• The maximum number of units for monitoring is 4000.
USERCFG Syntax
Syntax obeys to following rules:
<string> represent an item
| means or
[ ] represents an optional item (0 or 1)
{} represents an repetitive item (0 or more)
This section explains the syntax to use when you configure OVNPM collection units.
Notice that domain PROGAM, FILESIZE and DISKFILE support Symbolic Path Names to refer to an OSS file.
