Preface
The Performance Monitor (PM) is used to track and monitor the activities occurring on the HP NonStop Servers. It
can be used to assist you with the planning of upgrades, tracking of processes that need to be optimized,
monitoring results of tuning and configuration scenarios, and the understanding of a workload and its effect on
resource usage to identify bottlenecks in the NonStop Environments.
Bottlenecks can virtually occur anywhere and on any element of the environment. It may be caused by the
malfunctioning of resources, systems lacking enough resources or a program that dominates a particular
resource. Performance Monitor helps in tracking these bottlenecks and allows you to take the appropriate
proactive actions.
Before You Begin
Before reading the documentation, you are expected to have a basic understanding of the Windows Operating
System, as well as the HP NonStop environment.
