Programmatic Interfaces
The major hardware components associated with the PAM subsystem are:
The Ethernet 4 ServerNet adapter (E4SA)
The Gigabit 4 ServerNet adapter (G4SA)
The Fast Ethernet ServerNet adapter (FESA)
The Token-Ring ServerNet adapter (TRSA)
The PAM subsystem does not support token-bus connections.
Programmatic Interfaces
Both the PAM and TLAM subsystems provide a variety of programmatic interfaces that
enable applications to access lower-level protocols using file-system or
message-system procedure calls. Table A-2 compares the PAM and TLAM
programmatic interfaces.
The PAM programmatic interfaces are described in detail in the PAM Programming
Manual. For detailed information about the TLAM programmatic interfaces, see the
TLAM Programming Manual.
