Startup Parameters
PAM processes has one required and four optional parameters:
LIF is the name of the LIF to the ServerNet LAN systems
access (SLSA) subsystem. The LIF corresponds to the
LIF on the adapter and, therefore, to one of the Ethernet
or token-ring LANs attached to the system. A PAM
process is needed for each LIF that the PAM subsystem
uses. That is, a PAM process can access only one LIF,
and there can be only one PAM process for each LIF. If
more than one PAM process is configured to use a
particular LIF, it cannot be possible to start ports or
transfer data. LIF is a required startup parameter.
MAXREQUESTSIZEn
(or MAX)
specifies the maximum data message size n, in bytes,
that an HP application module can send to or receive from
the PAM subsystem through its programmatic interfaces.
The value n must be within the range of 128 through
32000 bytes.
The recommended value for this modifier is 32000. A
smaller value can result in reduced performance. If this
modifier is omitted, the default value is 32000 bytes.
MAXREQUESTSIZE is an optional startup parameter.
STARTUP |
STARTDOWN
STARTUP specifies that when the PAM process starts,
the line has a STARTED summary state. STARTDOWN
specifies that when the PAM process starts, the line has a
STOPPED summary state, and the line must be started
by using an SCF START LINE command. STARTUP is
the default value. STARTUP and STARTDOWN are
optional startup parameters.
MSAPSTARTUP |
MSAPSTARTDOWN
MSAPSTARTUP specifies that when the PAM process
starts, the MSAP (for the line) has a STARTED summary
state. MSAPSTARTDOWN specifies that when the PAM
process comes up, the MSAP has a STOPPED summary
state and must be started by using an SCF START MSAP
command. MSAPSTARTUP is the default value.
MSAPSTARTUP and MSAPSTARTDOWN are optional
startup parameters.
