This appendix is intended for programmers who want to modify Tandem LAN Access
Method (TLAM) management applications to manage the PAM subsystem. It is
assumed that readers are familiar with the TLAM management programming interface.
Topics described in this appendix include the following:
A comparison of the PAM and TLAM object types
A comparison of the PAM and TLAM programmatic commands
A comparison of the PAM and TLAM event messages
A detailed comparison of the PAM and TLAM subsystem components is provided in the
PAM Configuration and Management Manual.
Object Type Comparison
In the context of Distributed Systems Management (DSM), the TLAM subsystem is a
set of processes that deals with a set of objects. Table C-1 compares the PAM and
TLAM objects.
