SLSA subsystem
SLSA subsystem. See ServerNet LAN Systems Access (SLSA) subsystem.
SNAX Advanced Peer Networking (SNAX/APN). A software product that enables a
Himalaya S-series server to function as a type 2.1 LEN node. The extended version of
the product, SNAX/APN-EN, enables a Himalaya S-series server to act as an end node.
SNAX/APN. See SNAX Advanced Peer Networking (SNAX/APN)
.
SNAX Extended Facility (SNAX/XF). A software product that enables IBM Systems
Network Architecture (SNA) hosts and devices to communicate with and share
applications with Himalaya S-series servers. Application programs using SNAX/XF
can participate in an SNA environment while taking advantage of Tandem product
features such as high data integrity, continuous availability, and modular expandability.
SNAX/XF allows devices connected to a Himalaya S-series server to communicate with
applications on either a Tandem NonStop server or an IBM host. SNAX/XF can run
over X.25 packet-switched data networks (PSDNs), token-ring local area networks
(LANs), and other types of networks.
SNAX/XF. See SNAX Extended Facility (SNAX/XF)
.
SQE. See signal quality error (SQE)
.
SSAP. See session service access point (SSAP)
.
START. A sensitive SCF command that initiates the operation of an object. The successful
completion of the START command leaves the object either in the STARTED or
STARTING summary state.
STARTED summary state. A state in which an object is able to perform its normal data
communications functions. The flow of information, either to or from the object, is not
restricted in any way. Sessions can be established with the object. The object is
available for use by programs executing in either the Tandem system or workstations on
an attached LAN.
STATS. A nonsensitive SCF command that displays statistical information for the specified
object. Equivalent to the SPI STATISTICS command when the RESET parameter is not
used.
STATUS. A nonsensitive SCF and SPI command that displays status information about an
object, such as the dynamic state, the last error, and the modifiable values of the
specified object. STATUS also displays specific PAM subsystem attributes and values.
STOP. A sensitive SCF and SPI command that terminates the activity of an object. It deletes
all connections to and from the object in a nondisruptive manner.
STOPPED summary state. The state of an object added to the configuration, but not
currently initialized.
Subsystem Control Facility (SCF). A subsystem used to issue configuration and
information requests between the user and some communications subsystems.
