The PAM Subsystem’s Role Within the System
SESSION Object
The SESSION object defines the link station for LLC2-type connections and a SNAX
session over a token-ring LAN.
The SESSION name consists of up to eight alphanumeric characters and must begin
with a alphabetic characters. The SESSION name is qualified by the LINE and PORT
names. For example, $PAM.#PORT1.SESSION1.
MSAP Object
The MSAP object is the message system access point in PAM that provides SNAX/XF
and SNAX/APN access to the token-ring LAN. The MSAP object always is named
#SNATR; for example, $PAM.#SNATR. Figure 1-4
shows the relationship between
application types and MSAP interfaces.
