Installing an
Application for Testing
The Pathmaker product uses the information entered on the Application Installation
screen and information from the catalog to build utility files to install the generated
application for testing.
To install an application for testing, complete the Application Installation screen, then
exit from the Pathmaker full screen interface to the command interpreter. From the
command interpreter, you invoke the Pathmaker utility program PMPROJECT to
generate the application installation files.
To generate the files, enter the following command from the command interpreter:
23> PMPROJECT INSTALL
project-name
[!]
project-name
is your Pathmaker project name.
This command directs the PMPROJECT utility to use the information you specified on
the application configuration screens and other information already in the Pathmaker
project catalog (such as the location of object code) to create ten files.
Five of these files are Pathway files used to configure the Pathway system for your
Pathmaker application. (The five files include a master Pathway configuration source
file and four subordinate source files including one that provides a place for you to
specify custom Pathway object definitions and commands.)
Two of these files are Pathway files used to run the Pathway system for your
Pathmaker application.
Note While PMPROJECT INSTALL is running, messages will be displayed on the screen, including one that
indicates when the application has been successfully installed.
Table 7-2 lists the files that PMPROJECT creates on the subvolume you specify as the
command file subvolume on the Application Installation screen.
