Display Text screen.

for each function key. (Default text is provided in the Prompt Text field for
each function key for a DB requester.)
f. On the Display Text screen, change the Displayed field to
Y
and enter
appropriate help text (for example, “Reads first record in the Department
file”). Press F2 to update the screen. Press F5 to list the next function key.
The next set of steps requires you to list the Display Text screen repeatedly
using the F5 function key to specify which function key prompts you want
displayed on the application screen. The information that you should enter on
those nine screens is summarized here.
On the Display Text screen, change the Displayed field to
Y
and enter
appropriate help text. Then press F2 to update the Display Text screen for
each of the following function keys:
F5 Read Next
F6 Read Approximate
F7 Read Exact
F8 Read Generic
F10 Insert
F12 Delete
F14 Update
Shifted F13 Undo
Shifted F16 Return to Main Menu
Note that for Shifted F16, you should change the text to “Return to Main
Menu.”
(First Page, Last Page, Box Insert, Box Delete, and Box Update are omitted
because these functions are not relevant for this requester.)
When you have finished updating the Display Text screen for each of these
function keys, press F16 (twice) to return to the Requester Definition screen.
Press F13 to enter the Screen Painter.
g. View the default screen using the Screen Painter.
Figure 10-3 shows the default screen that the Pathmaker product creates.

key and the plus signs indicate alternate keys.
