Note The Pathmaker product for Release 3 requires that project catalogs be created on or imported to disk
volumes that are audited by the Transaction Monitoring Facility (TMF) product. An existing Pathmaker
project can be converted to Release 3 only if the catalog for that project resides on an audited volume.
Refer to the PMPROJECT utility in the Pathmaker Reference Manual for more information.
Ownership of a Pathmaker
Project
A Pathmaker project is owned by the user ID used when the project is added with the
PMPROJECT utility. The PMPROJECT utility ALTER subcommand can be used to
change the ownership of a Pathmaker project.
Individual Pathmaker objects, that is, requesters, services, and so on, are owned by the
user ID used to create them. The user ID of the creator of a Pathmaker object is
displayed on the related object definition screen (for example, the user ID of the
creator of a requester is displayed on the Requester Definition Screen).
Note Whenever a screen is printed from the full screen interface, the output is associated with the owner of the
project, regardless of the ID of the individual who prints the screen.
Loading a New Project
From an Existing Project
By using PMADL, you can load the project catalog for a new Pathmaker project from
an existing Pathmaker project. To accomplish this, you use an existing Pathmaker
catalog as input into PMADL, which creates a text file that describes the contents of
the catalog. You can then edit the text file for the new project and input the file back
into PMADL to update the new project’s catalog. Refer to the PMADL section of the
Pathmaker Reference Manual for details on this procedure.
Modifying a Project After a Pathmaker project has been added, you can modify certain project attributes.
The tools used to modify a Pathmaker project are the PMPROJECT utility ALTER
command, PMADL, and the Pathmaker full screen interface.
Using the the PMPROJECT utility ALTER command, you can change attributes of a
project such as PATHMON process name, the execution priority of the project, the
swap volume for the project, and the name of the terminal used to report project
messages. To change attributes of a project, you must own the project or use the
super ID. Refer to the Pathmaker Reference Manual for details about altering attributes
of a Pathmaker project using the PMPROJECT utility and a complete list of project
attributes that can be changed.
By using PMADL or the Process Configuration screen in the Pathmaker full screen
interface, you can change process configuration attributes for system processes such as
C, COBOL, DDL, and SQLCOBOL for a project.
Refer to the PMADL section (PROCESS-CONFIG statement) or the Screen section
(Process Configuration screen) of the Pathmaker Reference Manual for more information.
