Pathmaker Application Development Overview
3–2 067868 Tandem Computers Incorporated
Before You Begin It is expected that the required preparation tasks for Pathmaker application
development, described in Section 2, have already been completed. These required
tasks include:
Installing the Pathmaker product
Designing the application
Creating and customizing a Pathmaker project on the development system
Defining data for the project
The following optional tasks might also have been completed:
Preparing shared code
Creating a master service, server, or requester
Before you begin creating requesters, services, and servers with the Pathmaker
product, you should possess a completed application design specification. The design
specification should provide all the application details you need to fill in the
Pathmaker full screen interface screens and to write the code needed to implement the
application. See Section 2 for a summary of the information that an application design
specification should contain.
This manual includes a navigation chart that illustrates the hierarchy of all of the
screens in the Pathmaker full screen interface and the function key used to access each.
You are encouraged to print out this chart and the other items included in Appendix
A, the Reference Summary, and use them while you perform the application
development tasks.
