Using Function Keys
You navigate from one Pathmaker screen to another and, therefore, from one
Pathmaker task to another, by pressing the appropriate function keys on the keyboard.
Some function keys (common function keys) are used to perform the same function on
all of the Pathmaker screens, while other function keys (specialized function keys) are
used to perform different functions on the various Pathmaker screens. A complete list
of function keys for a particular Pathmaker screen is always available on the help
screen.
Common Function Keys. Certain function keys are common to every screen in the
Pathmaker full screen interface. Each of these common function keys is dedicated to
one specific function that can be initiated from any Pathmaker screen. You can use a
common function key even when the function key is not listed on a Pathmaker screen.
Common Pathmaker function keys include:
SF13 Display the Utility Menu.
From the Utility Menu, Tandem utilities such as TEDIT (or EDIT), FUP,
PERUSE, SCUP, DDL, ENFORM, and SQLCI can be accessed without leaving
the Pathmaker full screen interface. The specific utilities available for a
particular Pathmaker project are determined when that project is created.
F14 Print the current Pathmaker screen including anything typed on it.
SF14 Recover screen.
Pressing this function key redisplays the screen as the Pathmaker full screen
interface last showed it. In the event of a terminal error, this feature allows the
recovery of the Pathmaker screen as it was displayed prior to such an error.
F15 Display the help text associated with the current Pathmaker screen displayed.
Help text is provided for each Pathmaker screen. The help text consists of
information on the general purpose of the screen, allowable values for the data
fields, and a list of available function keys. The position of the cursor when F15
is pressed determines which portion of the help text is displayed first.
SF15 Display the defaults for data fields on this screen.
F16 Exit.
Return to the last screen displayed before the one currently appearing on the
terminal.
SF16 Exit Pathmaker application development screens and return to the Pathmaker
Main Menu. Pressing shifted F16 from the Pathmaker Main Menu displays the
TACL prompt.
