Pathmaker Reference Manual
Installation Addendum
Abstract
This document describes using the Distributed Systems Management/Software Configuration Manager (DSM/SCM) product to install
Pathmaker software on G-series releases. The Install utility described in the Pathmaker Reference Manual is not available on G-series
releases.
Product Information
The Pathmaker product is a screen-based application development tool that simplifies the development of Pathway systems on NonStop
systems.
D-series Pathmaker software can be installed using either the Install utility or DSM/SCM, as described in the Pathmaker
Reference Manual.
G-series Pathmaker software must be installed using DSM/SCM, as described in this addendum to the Pathmaker Reference
Manual.

Using DSM/SCM to Install Pathmaker Software
The information in this addendum supercedes the following paragraph, found on page 5-1 of the Pathmaker Reference Manual:
Install the Pathmaker software files from the site update tape (SUT). The Install program restores the Pathmaker files from
the SUT onto the Distribution Subvolume (DSV), then copies them to the Installation Subvolume (ISV). The ISV is the
subvolume from which PMINSTAL distributes the Pathmaker software. The default ISV subvolume name is
ZPATHMKR.
Problem 1: The Install utility does not exist on G-series releases.
Solution: Install the Pathmaker software files from the SUT onto the DSV using DSM/SCM.
The following table maps the Install phases to the DSM/SCM activities you must now perform to install Pathmaker software. Note that
there is not a one-to-one correlation. See the DSM/SCM User's Guide for step-by-step instructions for performing the needed activities.
