If the requester type is DB, you can override the screen format setting for individual
records in the requester's screen on the Record Instance Detail screen.
Create Default Screen
Enter Y or N to determine if the Pathmaker product will create the default screen the
next time screen information is required.
Y The Pathmaker product recreates the requester's default screen when you make
any changes in your requester.
Specifying Y for this field keeps the screen synchronized with the requester
attributes that define the layout.
N The Pathmaker product does not automatically recreate the requester's default
screen. When you change Create Default Screen to N and update, the Pathmaker
product creates a default screen and stores it in the application catalog.
When you use the Screen Painter to modify a screen, the Pathmaker product resets the
Create Default Screen field to N and does not recreate the requester's default screen
again unless you later enter Y in this field. This prevents the Pathmaker product from
accidentally undoing your Screen Painter efforts. If you change the Create Default
Screen field to Y, you lose all Screen Painter work.
Changing Create Default Screen to N also has the following effects:
You cannot change any data field's Screen Picture on the Display Detail screen so
that a data field would overlap another data field or would cross a page boundary.
You cannot add a new Display Field List entry on the Display Field List screen. If
you add a new entry to the Requester Context, the fields in the new entry are not
added to the Display Field List.
If you change the Create Default Screen field to N before you add the requester,
the Pathmaker product does not create a Display Field List for the requester.
When you invoke the Screen Painter, the application screen displayed there will
not contain any data fields.
