Screen Painter Use the Screen Painter and its partial screens to view and modify the default screen.
The default screen consists of information provided on one or more of the following
screens:
Requester Definition
Function Key Assignments
Display Field List
Display Detail
Record Instance Detail
Caution So that you will not lose the changes you specify in the Screen Painter and its partial screens, review the
effects of the value you enter in the Create Default Screen field of the Requester Definition screen.
Entering a Y in the Create Default Screen field can undo all your Screen Painter entries the next time
screen information is required.
The Screen Painter partial screens temporarily overlay the application screen so that
you can edit it. The partial screens, whose descriptions appear separately (in
alphabetical order in this section), include the following:
Data Field Partial Screen
Point Field Partial Screen
Pseudofield Partial Screen
Video Attributes Partial Screen
The Screen Painter screens work with two basic components of information: screen
elements and paging information.
Screen elements are indivisible components of the screen image that can have
starting location, length, and video attributes. You rearrange the screen elements
when you customize the default screen. Screen elements can be any of the
following:
Data fields
Decorations
Point fields
Pseudofields
Paging information includes the number of pages for each logical screen, how each
page appears, and what information is on each page.
