Functions The following paragraphs summarize the functions available on the Screen Painter
screen, including those functions that are not displayed on the screen.
F1-Previous Page
Shows the page before the current page if a paging area is defined.
F2-Next Page
Shows the page after the current page if a paging area is defined. If the current page is
the last page, creates a new page and displays it.
F3-Undo
Reverses your last action. You cannot undo F1, SF1, F2, SF2, F14, SF14, F16, or SF16. If
your previous action was Undo, the changes you reversed are reinstated.
F4-Define/Modify Data Field
Accesses the Data Field Partial screen, where you can add a new data field or change
an existing one.
F5-Define/Modify Point Field
Accesses the Point Field Partial screen, where you can add a new point field or change
an existing one.
F7-Assign Video Attributes
Accesses the Video Attributes Partial screen, where you can modify the display
attributes of a decoration, point field, pseudofield, or data field.
F8-Move/Delete Screen Element
Moves or deletes a single screen element.
Use F8 to remove the screen element and SF8 to replace it. Place the cursor on the
element you want to move or delete. Pressing F8 removes the element from the
screen. To replace the element, move the cursor to the part of the screen where you
want it to reappear and press SF8 to place it there.
F9-Define/Modify Paging Area
Defines the paging area or changes an existing definition.
When you press F9 to define or change the paging area, the Screen Painter marks the
cursor position as the beginning border of the paging area. To mark the end of the
paging area, move the cursor to where you want the end to be and press F9 again.
When you modify the paging area, the Screen Painter moves every screen element
within the paging area to an equivalent position relative to the new beginning border
of the paging area. If it cannot move all elements, the operation fails.
You cannot place a screen element in the column reserved for video display
information.
