The service could read the record from the database, compare it to the before-image
and write the after-image to the database only if the comparison showed identical
data. If the record had been altered, a returned message could alert you.
When invoking such a service, you would have to send both images as parameters.
Note When you send both before-images and after-images, be sure to reply with the contents of the record
after a successful update or insert operation. This ensures that the generated requester code keeps the
before-image data item current.
Functions The following paragraphs summarize the functions available on the SEND Parameter
Definition screen., including those functions that are not displayed on the screen.
F2-Update
Updates the existing parameter list in the project catalog.
F4-List
Shows a list of the SEND parameters already entered, starting with the first one.
F5-List Next
Lists a following set of parameters.
F9-Value List
Accesses the Reference Field Value List, which shows the full structure of the reference
object as defined in DDL or in NonStop SQL.
F14-Print Screen
Prints the SEND Parameter Definition screen.
F15-Help
Shows online help for the item near the cursor—a data field, the function key list, or
the entire screen. To access help for the entire screen, place the cursor by the screen
title. When you are in help, use the NEXT PAGE, ROLL UP, PREV PAGE, and ROLL
DOWN keys to see more help text for the current Pathmaker screen.
F16-Return
Returns to the previous screen.
SF13-Utility Menu
Accesses the Utility Menu screen, where you can enter DDL, EDIT, ENFORM, FUP,
PATHCOM, PERUSE, SCUP, or SQLCI without leaving the Pathmaker product.
