Field Descriptions The following paragraphs describe the fields on the SQL Table Registration screen.
Table Object Name
Displays all existing Pathmaker object names associated with the NonStop SQL table
name and DEFINE name.
For new registration information, enter a Pathmaker object name, unique among all
other NonStop SQL table object names, requester names, DDL definition or record
names, service names, and server names.
You can use the same name as the SQL table object name, the DEFINE name, and the
simple SQL table name. For example, the following names are valid entries on the
SQL Table Registration screen:
Table Object DEFINE Name SQL Table Name
Name
EMPINFO =EMPINFO \SYSTEM.$DATA.SALES.EMPINFO
To list by table object name, place the cursor in one of the fields in this column and
press F4. The list begins with the table object where the cursor is placed.
To change the starting point of the list, type over a table object name in the Table
Object Name column and press F4.
If you are listing registration information by Table Object Name, an asterisk (*)
appears to the left of the heading for this column. The items in the Table Object Name
column are listed alphanumerically. Pressing F5 causes Pathmaker to continue listing
by table object name.
If you enter a DDL definition or record later that conflicts with a NonStop SQL table
object name, it is ignored when you attempt to use it on a Pathmaker screen.
Define Name
Displays all DEFINE names that are associated with NonStop SQL table object names
and NonStop SQL table names. You can change this information.
If you are entering registration information, use the DEFINE Name column to enter a
valid DEFINE name. DEFINE names must begin with an equal sign (=) and can
contain up to 24 characters. The DEFINE name must be unique among all other
DEFINE names for this project. The DEFINE name (without the equal sign) can be
identical to the table object name and the simple NonStop SQL table name.
To list by DEFINE name, position the cursor in one of the fields in the DEFINE Name
column and press F4. The list begins with the DEFINE name where the cursor is
positioned. You can also type over a DEFINE name in the DEFINE Name column and
press F4 to change the starting point of the list.
If you are listing registration information by DEFINE Name, an asterisk (*) appears
immediately to the left of the heading for this column. The items in the DEFINE Name
column are listed alphanumerically. Pressing F5 causes the Pathmaker product to
continue listing by DEFINE name.
