If the field where the cursor was positioned on the previous screen contained an EDIT
file name before you navigated to this screen, that name is shown in this field. To edit
a different file, type the new file name in this field and press F1.
F2-FUP
Accesses the File Utility Program (FUP) where you can create, copy, rename, and
purge files. When you have finished using FUP, the Pathmaker product returns you to
the Utility Menu.
You can use FUP to perform many functions involving both disk files and devices such
as tape drives. Use FUP to create, purge, duplicate, and display files; alter file
characteristics; and load data into files.
See the File Utility Program (FUP) Reference Manual for more information on using FUP.
F3-PERUSE
Enters the PERUSE environment where you can view spooler output and redirect it to
the printer of your choice. When you have finished using PERUSE, the Pathmaker
product returns you to the Utility Menu.
PERUSE is an interactive program that allows you to change the attributes of a
spooled job as well as to examine your job while it is in the spooler system.
See the Spooler Utilities Reference Manual for more information on using PERUSE.
F4-SCUP
Runs the SCREEN COBOL Utility Program (SCUP) where you can copy, purge, and
manage programs in the SCREEN COBOL library. When you have finished using
SCUP, the Pathmaker product returns you to the Utility Menu.
SCUP simplifies your task of maintaining SCREEN COBOL object library files. You
can use SCUP to display information about the library files, copy programs from one
library to another, delete programs from a library, and reclaim file space by
compressing the SCREEN COBOL library.
See the Pathway SCREEN COBOL Reference Manual for more information on using
SCUP.
F5-DDL
Runs the Data Definition Language (DDL) compiler where you can describe data,
enter definitions into the DDL dictionary, and generate FUP file creation statements
and COBOL or C source code. When you have finished using DDL, the Pathmaker
product returns you to either the Utility Menu or the Main Menu.
DDL provides a language for formally describing data, adding the data definitions to a
dictionary, generating ENSCRIBE database files from the data definitions, and
translating the data definitions into COBOL or C source code.
See the Data Definition Language (DDL) Reference Manual for more information about
DDL.
