Field Descriptions The following paragraphs describe the fields on the Application Installation screen.
All fields, except the PATHMON Log File field, must contain data.
PATHMON Process
Enter the name of the Pathway monitoring (PATHMON) process that controls the
application. This name can be a maximum of six characters. The first character must
be a dollar sign ($) followed by one to five alphanumeric characters. For example:
$MVR
$BENCH
$M2
If the application will be used in a network environment, the PATHMON name can be
a maximum of five characters including the dollar sign ($).
Command File Subvolume
Enter the name of the project subvolume (for example, $DATAII.MVRTEST) where
the application test configuration command files are to be created.
The Pathmaker PMPROJECT utility generates command files in the subvolume you
name that you can use to create a test ENSCRIBE database and to configure the
Pathway system for the application.
Data File Subvolume
Enter the name of the subvolume (for example, $DATAII.MVRDATA) where the test
ENSCRIBE database for the application is to be created. This field is required even if
you will not be creating an ENSCRIBE test database.
‘Print Screen’ Printer
Enter the printer or spooler location where output from the Print Screen function keys
in the generated application is to be sent.
For example, if the printer is $LP1, you might enter $S.#LP1 in this field. Every time a
function key associated with the PRNT action is pressed, the application writes a copy
of the current screen to spooler location $S.#LP1.
INSPECT Terminal
Enter the name of the terminal where debugging messages are to be written.
This should not be a terminal where the generated application is to be run, but should
be a terminal that can be left in PAUSE mode to receive messages while the generated
application is running.
PATHMON Log File
Enter the name of the logging file used for reporting errors and changes in status of the
application Pathway system. If you do not enter a value in this field, the application
