4 Project Catalog
067869 Tandem Computers Incorporated 4–1
This section provides reference information about the Pathmaker project catalog,
including the structure of the catalog and how to extract information about the project.
This section is organized as follows:
“Getting Information” gives an overview of how to get information from the
project catalog.
“Project Catalog File Descriptions” shows a table listing file descriptions for each
file in the catalog.
“Project Catalog Linkage” illustrates the primary links in the project catalog.
“Sample Enform Query Fragments” show how to construct some basic project
catalog links in an Enform query.
“Producing Pathmaker Reports” describes how to generate standard and custom
reports from the project catalog.
Getting Information
from the Project
Catalog
Use one of four methods to get information from the Pathmaker project catalog:
1. Write Enform queries that extract information. Refer to the project catalog
diagram, Figure 4-1, to see where the information you need is stored. You can
also refer to “Sample Enform Query Fragments,” later in this section. These
samples illustrate how to construct some basic project catalog links in an Enform
query.
2. Use a set of predefined Enform queries provided by Tandem to produce
standardized reports on the project catalog. The Enform queries and reports are
described in “Producing Pathmaker Reports,” later in this section.
3. In addition to the standard reports, you can produce customized reports on the
project catalog, tailored to answer specific questions. Refer to “Producing
Pathmaker Reports.”
4. Generate reports on the DDL objects in the project catalog by using any of the set
of Enform queries supplied by Tandem for the DDL dictionary. These reports are
described in the Data Definition Language (DDL) Reference Manual.
