CLEANUP
Purges the Pathmaker subvolume from which PMINSTAL distributes the
Pathmaker software (that is, the ISV containing the version of PMINSTAL you
are running) when the installation is completed. An exception is if the ISV
subvolume is a Pathmaker installation, for example, the installation created by
the current execution of PMINSTAL. If PMINSTAL determines that the ISV
subvolume is an installation, it issues a warning message and does not purge
the software distribution subvolume.
REDEFINE [
target-subvol
] [ , CLEANUP ]
Redefines an existing version of the Pathmaker product on a specific system.
Redefine the Pathmaker product when you receive updates to the original release
software, or when you change the installed configuration file. PMINSTAL reports
an error if the Pathmaker version you want to redefine does not exist on the
system you specify in the REDEFINE operation.
The REDEFINE parameter does the following:
Updates the existing Pathmaker installation with software from the
PMINSTAL subvolume, usually the ISV. New Pathmaker software comes
from PMINSTAL's subvolume.
Updates the installed version of the Pathmaker product to reflect any changes
in the installed configuration file.
Moves the updated Pathmaker installation to a new subvolume, if desired.
Does not update the DICTNPC in all project subvolumes. If you specify a
target subvolume other than the one on which the existing Pathmaker
installation resides, you must manually change the process configuration in
your projects. (Within a Pathmaker project, redefining any of the attributes in
the Process Configuration screen alters the DICTNPC only for the project
currently running.)
Does not alter the projects that use the redefined version of the Pathmaker
product. If you specify a target subvolume other than the one on which the
existing Pathmaker installation resides, you must manually reconfigure all the
projects.
The Pathmaker software files in the existing installation will be overwritten with
the new software from the subvolume where PMINSTAL resides. If the existing
version of the Pathmaker product is on a subvolume other than the
target-
subvol,
PMINSTAL creates the new Pathmaker installation on the
target-
subvol,
and purges the original Pathmaker files.
