START and RESTART
Start the Pathway system for a Pathmaker project or set of projects. You must own
the project being started.
The COOL and COLD options let you specify how to START or RESTART the project.
If you specify neither option, PMPROJECT cool starts the project.
COOL Uses the configuration information in the existing Pathway control file
(T9154CTL) to restart the PATHMON process.
Cool start your project when it has been stopped but its Pathway
configuration has not changed. Cool starting a project is faster than cold
starting a project.
COLD Uses the information in the Pathway configuration file (T9154CFG) to
rebuild the configuration and restart the PATHMON process.
STATUS
Displays the current status of a Pathmaker project or set of projects. For each
project, STATUS shows whether the project is started, stopped, or running. If it is
running, STATUS shows which terminals and which users are running the project.
Using PMPROJECT Here are some guidelines for using PMPROJECT:
PMPROJECT requires that TACL be a named process, and that it be running on
the same system as the project being accessed.
Although you can cancel any PMPROJECT commands at any step by pressing the
BREAK key, it is advisable to avoid doing so. Canceling certain commands might
leave the project in an inconsistent state. For example, canceling a DELETE
command could result in an existing project with missing catalog files that were
purged before the command was canceled.
To develop several projects simultaneously, add each Pathmaker project
separately.
Examples These examples show how to add a project, move a project to another system, and
alter a project.
Adding a Project
This example shows how to add a project called TEST-PROJECT. After you enter the
ADD command, PMPROJECT prompts you for the information needed by the project.
In this example, the text you would enter appears in boldface. The symbol means
press RETURN or ENTER. If you press RETURN or ENTER without entering text you
are choosing the default option.
To add a project:
23> PMPROJECT ADD test-project
Project catalog subvolume (default: $PROJECT.SUBVOL):
