Field Descriptions The following paragraphs describe the fields on the Function Key Assignments - 3270
screen.
Requester
Displays the name of the requester from the Requester Definition screen. You cannot
enter data into this field.
Number of Function Keys
Enter either 12 or 24, the number of function keys the target IBM 3270 terminal is to
support. The target terminal is the terminal where the application runs.
For both types of terminal, you can define actions for PF1 through PF12, PF13 through
PF24 as well as PA1 and PA2.
For a terminal with 12 function keys, you can define actions directly for function keys
PF1 through PF12. You can also define actions for PF13 through PF 24. The end user
accesses PF13 through PF24 by pressing the ENTER key and the one of the function
keys, PF1 through PF12, simultaneously. For example, pressing PF2 and ENTER
obtains the action associated with function key PF14.
You can define PA1 through PA2 to accept the actions DFLT, RETN, and RCVR, as
these keys can be used only in conjunction with the ESCAPE clause of the SCOBOL
ACCEPT statement.
Function Keys
Lists the function keys. You cannot enter data into this field.
Action
Enter a code for the type of action you would like this function key to perform. Valid
action codes are:
CALL Calls another requester. Name the requester to be called in the
Requester/Service Name column and later match its parameters, if there
are any, in the CALL Parameter Definition screen. While you can enter a
called requester on this screen before defining that requester, you cannot
generate the current requester until all called requesters are defined.
The Pathmaker product supplies the requester for the default action,
CALL help.
The CALLed requester must be the same terminal type as the calling
requester.
DFLT Shows default values on the application screen. The DFLT key inserts
blank or zero (according to data type) in any field without a default
value. This is identical to the SF15 key in the Pathmaker product.
FRST Moves to the first page in a multiple page application screen.
LAST Moves to the last page in a multiple page application screen.
