Logical File Entries

Screen

For services based on ENSCRIBE files, use this screen for the

following:

To specify the logical file names to be used for file I/O with this service.

To relate each file name to a DDL RECORD definition.

To specify the access mode for file opening.

The Pathmaker product uses the information you supply here to generate SELECT,

FD, OPEN, CLOSE, and declarative statements for your ENSCRIBE files during server

generation.

For services that access NonStop SQL tables, specify the host variable names to be

associated with each table. The Pathmaker product uses the names you specify in the

Logical File Name column to generate host variables for this service during server

generation.

For either ENSCRIBE or NonStop SQL services, the logical file or host variable names

you supply must not match any name in the Request or Reply Reference Object

columns of the IPC Definition screen.
