Pathway/iTS 1.0 README for S Systems
3. All files on the subvolume $SYSTEM.ZPATHWAY must be secured
"nxnx" for the Pathway products to work with the new licensing
checking mechanism. The "x" value indicates any valid Guardian
security setting (A, G, O, N, C, U, or -).
4. In $SYSTEM.ZPITS subvolume, run GATWYPAK to extract the POBJCOD
and POBJDIR files of the compiled SCOBOL Gateway requester.
5. To install the SCOBOL Java Package, type the command:
RUN $SYSTEM.ZOSSUTL.COPYOSS T0526PAX
This will install the Java Package files to the OSS directory:
/usr/tandem/Pathway-iTS
You must execute this command with a user-id that has permission
to create an OSS directory.
6. Copy itsjlib.jar, blank.html, and end.html files from
/usr/tandem/Pathway-iTS/ directory to the application directory,
that is, the directory where the converted and built application
will reside. Use the command: cp /usr/tandem/Pathway-iTS/itsjlib.jar
/usr/tandem/webserver/root/<app-home>/itsjlib.jar
Similarly, copy the blank.html and end.html files.
7. For compiling the converted Java files in Windows OS, the
itsjlib.jar file should be moved to the build platform. Use ftp
commands from the Windows PC to copy the itsjlib.jar file from
/usr/tandem/Pathway-iTS/ directory to the desired build folder.
The CLASSPATH environment variable must be set accordingly. For
example, if the jar file was transferred to C:/iTSapp/,
then CLASSPATH should have the value C:\iTSapp\itsjlib.jar;.;
8. If you use the $SYSTEM.ZPITS.PATHTCPL file provided by Compaq,
but wish to place it in a different volume or subvolume, you must
use the SET TCP GUARDIAN-LIB command to specify the location of
the file. You must have write access to PATHTCP3 to use the
SET TCP GUARDIAN-LIB command.
Notes:
1) If you customize your user library object file, or if you install
it in a location other than $SYSTEM.ZPITS.PATHTCPL, you must
remember to update your library whenever Compaq adds new
procedures to the standard user library. This is essential
because new versions of the TCP may invoke the new procedures in
the user library. If you fail to update your library, the TCP
will report a library incompatibility and will stop itself.
2) Pathway/iTS is designed to allow customers to create their own
user conversion routines for SCREEN COBOL programs, and to bind
their routines into the PATHTCPL or SCUSERO files. User
conversion routines should not access global storage. The TCP
uses almost all the global storage available, and does not
reserve space for customer use. For more information on user
conversion routines, please see the Compaq NonStop(TM)
Pathway/iTS TCP and Terminal Programming Guide.
3) The TCP does not support I/O operations invoked by user
conversion routines. Such I/O can cause the TCP to malfunction.
4) During terminal startup, the TCP retries, aborts or suspends a
terminal depending on the terminal error that has occurred. After
a terminal is up and running, user recovery will be invoked
