Redefining CPU Resources
Redefining CPU Resources
You can use the CONTROL NODE command to temporarily change CPU and CPU
weight assignments in a running Pathway/XM environment. You might want to do this,
for example, if you find that a particular processor is too heavily loaded compared to
other processors.
This command replaces the previously specified CPU profile for the NODE object. You
can specify only those CPU resources that were included in the PXMCFG configuration
for the NODE object. Any CPUs whose weights are set to zero in this profile are no
longer used for new processes.
For example, suppose your configuration includes the following commands to set the
CPU assignments for client nodes SERVER1 and SERVER2:
SET NODE CPUS (1:22, 3:31, 5:31, 6:8, 9:8)
ADD NODE SERVER1, SERVER2
The following PXMCOM CONTROL command sets new CPU and weight assignments
for these two NODE objects:
>> CONTROL NODE SERVER1, (CPUS 1:16, 3:12, 5:32, 6:32, 9:8)
>> CONTROL NODE SERVER2, (CPUS 1:25, 3:0, 5:50, 6:0, 9:25)
