PXMCFG- or PXMCOM-Specific Problems
VERBOSE ON command to collect information about the PATHCOM commands that
were issued on behalf of PXMCOM.
If you are able to reproduce the problem, give the Compaq representative a simple test
case illustrating the problem along with a description of how to reproduce it. Otherwise,
give the representative the object modules and data files (PATHCONF files) making up
the Pathway/XM configuration when the error occurred, and the Inspect save files
created (from the SAVEABEND process attribute) when the error occurred.
PXMCFG- or PXMCOM-Specific Problems
If you detect a problem with PXMCFG or PXMCOM, collect the following for your
Compaq representative’s review:
•
The SuperCTL file
•
The command sequence that produced the problem
PATHMON-Specific Problems
When you detect a problem with a PATHMON process, provide your Compaq
representative with a copy of your PATHMON dump file. You can request error
dumping by specifying either the SET PATHMON, DUMP ON command in your
configuration or by issuing the PXMCOM CONTROL PATHMON command.
If you request the help of your Compaq representative in analyzing a problem, the
representative will likely require a DUMP file. It is therefore recommended that DUMP
be set to ON for production systems.
TCP-Specific Problems
Collect the following information if you detect a problem with a TCP.
When describing the problem to your Compaq representative, include details of how to
reproduce the problem by navigating to particular screens and pressing particular keys.
TCP Dump
When a TCP detects an inconsistency in its control tables, the TCP performs a dump
automatically if the dump feature is enabled. To enable the TCP dump feature, issue the
following commands:
> PXMCOM
>> OPEN superctl-file
>> CONTROL TCP *, DUMP ON
>> EXIT
where superctl-file is the name of your SuperCTL file.
If you request the help of your Compaq representative in analyzing a problem, the
representative will likely require a dump file. It is therefore recommended that you
always set the DUMP option to ON for production systems.
