4. Resume processing of the transaction queue by issuing the RESUME SERVER
command:
RESUME SERVER SRV1
If several server classes in a defined group (for example, group XYZ) are suspended
and you wish to resume operation of all of them at once, you can issue the following
command:
RESUME SERVER GROUP XYZ
You can use the CONTROL SERVER command to change the values of the following
SERVER attributes:
ASSIGN NUMSTATIC
DEFINE OUT
GUARDIAN-LIB PARAM
HOMETERM PRI
IN PROGRAM
MAXSERVERS STARTUP
The new values you supply in the CONTROL SERVER command are saved in the
current configuration in the SuperCTL file, but not in the initial configuration.
Therefore, these values are preserved through a cool start or a warm start of the
Pathway/XM environment, but not through a cold start. When the Pathway/XM
environment is cold started, the server class returns to its initial configured values.
Displaying Information About Servers
The SuperCTL file and the individual PATHCTL files associated with the PATHMON
processes maintain information about object configurations, object status, and operation
statistics. You can display this information for server classes and their server processes
by using the following commands:
INFO SERVER, which shows the current configuration of one or more server
classes
STATUS SERVER, which indicates the state (such as running or suspended) of
server processes
STATS SERVER, which provides statistics for server processes
For direct and replicated server classes, these commands provide information about the
server processes within the server class. For distributed server classes, these commands
provide information about the link control service (LCS) processes that act as proxy
servers for the server class, and also provide some information about the server
processes.
To ensure proper maintenance of your Pathway/XM environment, you should monitor
its performance on a regular basis, make changes when required, and always monitor the
effects of any changes that you make.
