At the end of the detailed summary, a sentence states whether the SuperCTL file was
successfully generated, and if so, gives its fully qualified Guardian file name.
Starting PXMCHK
PXMCHK is a command line utility that verifies that all references in the SuperCTL file
can be resolved. Before migrating to a new configuration, use PXMCHK to verify that
all referenced names are valid.
Start a PXMCHK process by entering the PXMCHK command through the TACL
command interpreter and specifying a SuperCTL configuration file name.
new-superctl-file
specifies the name of the new SuperCTL configuration file you want to verify. The
file must be in the system in which the new configuration is to run.
If you do not provide the SuperCTL file name, a prompt asks you to enter the name.
Considerations
The PXMCHK process lists whether it opened the new SuperCTL file, lists the names of
the objects configured for each object type, and lists any errors it encounters when
verifying names referenced in the SuperCTL file.
Before migrating to a new configuration, run PXMCHK. If errors are reported, correct
the configuration then run PXMCHK again. Repeat this process until PXMCHK returns
the message SuperCTL (
new-superctl-file) successfullly
validated.
