SET PATHWAY
SET PATHWAY
This statement establishes attribute values for the PATHWAY object and defines values
for the PATHMON processes that are created in this Pathway/XM environment. The
attribute values can be changed only at configuration time.

Refer to Appendix C, Configuration Limits and Defaults, for information about
configuration limits for Pathway/XM environments.
MAXEXTERNALTCPS number
specifies the maximum number of external TCP processes, per PATHMON process,
that can communicate with a PATHMON process at the same time. An external TCP
is one that is controlled by a different PATHMON process, either in the same
Pathway/XM environmnent or in a different Pathway/XM environment or
Pathway/iTS environment.
The total of the values specified for MAXEXTERNALTCPS and MAXLINKMONS
cannot exceed 800 per PATHMON process. A maximum of 38400 TCP processes,
external TCP processes, and LINKMON processes within a Pathway/XM
environment are allowed to hold links concurrently to a single server process.
number must be a value from 0 through 800. If you omit this attribute, the default
value is 0; any attempt by an external TCP to access a server fails.
For Pathway/XM environments, the recommended value is 0—no external TCPs
allowed. Other values may be necessary in your system to maintain compatibility
with older versions of Pathway/iTS.
MAXLINKMONS number
specifies the maximum number of LINKMON processes that can communicate with
a well-known, named PATHMON process at the same time.
The total of the values specified for MAXEXTERNALTCPS and MAXLINKMONS
cannot exceed 800. A maximum of 38400 TCP processes, external TCP processes,
