SET PATHWAY
and LINKMON processes within a Pathway/XM environment are allowed to hold
links concurrently to a single server process.
number must be a value from 0 through 800. If you omit this attribute, the default
value is 0; any attempt by a LINKMON process to access a server process within
the Pathway/XM environment fails. If your environment uses Pathsend processes,
you must set this attribute to a value greater than 0.
MAXPXMCOMS number
specifies the maximum number of PXMCOM processes that can run simultaneously
per PATHMON process in a Pathway/XM environment.
number must be a value from 1 through 50. If you omit this attribute, the default
is 1.
MAXSPI number
specifies the maximum number of Subsystem Programmatic Interface (SPI)
processes that can run simultaneously, per PATHMON process, within the
Pathway/XM environment. SPI is part of the Compaq Distributed Systems
Management (DSM) facility.
number must be a value from 0 through 100. (Until a PATHWAY object is started,
only one SPI process or PXMCOM process at a time can open communication with
the named PATHMON process.) If you omit this attribute, the default is 1.
In some existing systems, SPI processes are used for inquiries (such as monitoring
the EMS event log and then executing some appropriate action if certain events
occur). In a Pathway/XM environment, SPI processes must not be used to make
changes to the PATHMON environments.
If you do not use SPI processes in your Pathway/XM environment, it is
recommended you set this value to 0.
MAXTELLQUEUE number
specifies the maximum number of tell messages that can be queued for each
terminal, per PATHMON process.
number must be a value from 0 through 300. If you omit this attribute, the default
is 4. If your environment does not support Pathway/iTS, it is recommended you
specify 0 for the value.
Note. Although users do not explicitly use the PATHCOM interface to manage a
Pathway/XM environment, each PXMCOM process starts two underlying PATHCOM
processes. Therefore, this attribute indirectly controls the number of PATHCOM processes
allowed.
Note. Do not use SPI processes to alter any object or process executing in a Pathway/XM
environment. Such action can cause the Pathway/XM environment to become unstable.
