Starting PXMCOM
Starting PXMCOM
PXMCOM is the process that provides the interactive management command interface
to the Pathway/XM environment. The name of the PXMCOM object file is
$volume.subvolume.PXMCOM.
Start a PXMCOM process by entering the PXMCOM command through the TACL
command interpreter.
run-option
is one of the TACL RUN [D] command run options.
IN command-file
specifies a file from which PXMCOM commands are read. PXMCOM reads
132-byte records from the specified file until an end-of-file character or an
EXIT command is encountered.
If you omit this parameter, input is taken from the current TACL input file; this
file is typically the home terminal.
OUT list-file
specifies a file to which all PXMCOM command responses are written. The file
must be either an EDIT file or an unstructured format file. If responses are
written to a key-sequenced, relative, or entry-sequenced file, the Pathway/XM
environment fails and the PXMCOM process eventually abends.
If you specify a disk file name that already exists, the PXMCOM command
response is appended to the existing file. If you specify a disk file and the file
does not exist, an EDIT file is created.
If you specify a line printer or a process, a page eject is performed when the file
is opened. A page eject is not performed before the file is closed.
If you specify a magnetic tape, two consecutive file marks are written just
before the file is closed.
