CONTROL SERVER
Defaults for file name expansion are based on the values of the SYSTEM and
DEFAULT attributes of the associated NODE object.
STARTUP string
specifies the character string that is sent to a Guardian server process in the startup
message. Leading blanks are ignored. If you want embedded blanks to be read as
part of the startup string, enclose string in quotation marks. If the string includes
quotation marks, they must be doubled.
Considerations
Only one attribute may be specified in a CONTROL SERVER command. To
change multiple attributes, specify a series of CONTROL commands, one for each
attribute.
Changes made by the CONTROL SERVER command are recorded in the current
configuration portion of the SuperCTL configuration file. The changed values are
preserved during cool and warm starts; initial attribute values specified for the
configuration are reinstated at the next cold start.
Example
The following commands change the name of the files in which the server process code
resides. In this example, whoever starts the PATHMON process must have WRITE and
EXECUTE access to the server object file:
CONTROL SERVER DEPT122, PROGRAM $DATA.WORK.SRVOBJ
CONTROL SERVER DEPT122, GUARDIAN-LIB $DATA.WORK.SRVLIB
