START PATHWAY
11 PXMCOM Commands
START PATHWAY
This command starts a Pathway/XM environment. See Starting a Pathway/XM
Environment on page 7-11 for a more detailed discussion of the steps performed by the
START PATHWAY command.
COLD
creates a new Pathway/XM environment using the initial configuration information
stored in the SuperCTL file to build new PATHMON configuration files.
Use this option to start a new or revised configuration, or to start a previously used
configuration with the initial configuration values (in other words, without
preserving changes made with PXMCOM commands).
COOL
restarts a Pathway/XM environment using the current configuration information
stored in the SuperCTL file to build new PATHMON configuration files. This
option preserves temporary changes previously made with some PXMCOM
commands.
Use this option to restart a Pathway/XM environment with a previously started
configuration. You can also use this option to restart a Pathway/XM environment
after a warm start fails with an error.
WARM
restarts a Pathway/XM environment using the current configuration information
stored in the SuperCTL file and the existing PATHMON configuration files for each
PATHMON process. This option preserves as many changes as possible from
previous PXMCOM commands.
Use this option to restart the most current configuration. A warm start provides the
fastest startup time of the three options.
START PATHWAY { COLD | COOL | WARM }
Note. Because cool and warm starts access current configuration information in the
SuperCTL file, your current SuperCTL file must match the one previously used.
