STOP PATHWAY
STOP PATHWAY
This command stops a Pathway/XM environment.
The STOP PATHWAY command cannot be reversed; in other words, once you have
initiated the shutdown process, you cannot stop that process.
MODE
specifies the amount of force to be used when stopping the system.
If you omit the MODE attribute, the default is ORDERLY.
OR or ORDERLY
allows work in progress to complete before stopping. For example, a terminal
that is waiting for the completion of an I/O to a server is not stopped until the
I/O completes.
The PXMCOM process is suspended until the stop request completes. After
shutdown, the PXMCOM prompt is returned.
AB or ABORT
aborts all terminals and allows all other objects such as TCP processes and
server classes to complete outstanding work before stopping.
The PXMCOM process is suspended until the stop request completes. After
shutdown, the PXMCOM prompt is returned.
IM or IMMEDIATE
stops all server processes and TCP processes immediately.
The PXMCOM process is suspended until the stop request completes. After
shutdown, the PXMCOM prompt is returned.
Note. The STOP PATHWAY command replaces the PATHCOM SHUTDOWN2 command. In
effect, the STOP PATHWAY command issues a PATHCOM SHUTDOWN2 command to all
Pathway environments managed by this Pathway/XM environment.
