C-2
Table C-2 lists the value range or limit and default value for each PXMCFG and
PXMCOM parameter and object attribute. This table is organized alphabetically; a long
dash (—) means the item does not apply. These limits and defaults are subject to change
with product IPMs or with new software releases.
Requesters Maximum number of concurrent link requests from all TCP processes in a
Pathway/XM enviroment to a server class is 38400 or the value of
LINKDEPTH, whichever is smaller.
Maximum of 256 concurrent link requests per TCP to a server class.
Maximum of 256 concurrent PathSend requesters in a CPU.
ROUTER
objects
Maximum of the number of physical processes that can be started in a
processor
SERVER
objects
Maximum of 4094 server classes.
Maximum of 4094 server processes per server class.
Global maximum of 1048064 processes, which includes server processes,
PATHMON processes, TCP processes, LCS processes, LINKMON
processes, and PB processes.
In a COBOL server, the RECEIVE-TABLE size must be equal to or larger
than the value of MAXLINKS; suggested size is larger than MAXLINKS to
allow for future increases in the configuration without having to recompile.
TCP objects Users can define an unlimited number of TCP templates. The Pathway/XM
environment supports a maximum of 204800 TCP objects generated by
PXMCFG.
Maximum of 15 different POBJ files per TCP.
Using Inspect: Each TCP can control a maximum of 8 terminals
simultaneously running the Inspect utility, and can process a total of 20
program breakpoints for all SCREEN COBOL programs under inspection.
TERM
objects
Maximum of 1048064 minus the number of TCP objects generated by
PXMCFG.
