Command Options. A number of options increase the flexibility of the
COPY command. The volume and subvolume of the database
dictionary may be specified (the default is the current volume and
subvolume). The database source file for conversion can be named
explicitly (rather than implicitly with the supplied record name). The
field headings for the database source file can be deleted during the
conversion process. If the name of the output intermediate file matches
the name of an existing file, the existing file can be automatically
purged.
Comprehensive Set of Error/Warning Messages. When an invalid
COPY command is encountered or the file conversion work of
PCFORMAT does not proceed as expected, a descriptive error or
warning message is produced. In general, error messages are more
serious and typically explain why the content of the output
intermediate file may not match your expectations. Error and warning
messages may be displayed on the home terminal (default) or written
to a host system file or device.
