1-2 Install Process Overview
General
There are three ways to install the product: Wizard Installation, Manual Installation and IPSETUP.
a) Wizard Installation is the recommended install process; see section 2-2-2
for details.
Wizard Installation will guide you through each step of the process allowing you to set
parameters as you move from one step to the next.
b) For manual installation please refer to section 2-2-3
. In this installation, you are required to
transfer files and run a process to change the WVP configuration and obey files.
c) For IPSETUP, please refer to section 2-2-4
. IPSETUP.exe can be used to install PVP via
DSM/SCM.

First Time User Considerations
If this is the first time installing the product please review and take note of the following
considerations:
 WVP should be installed and running before PVP is installed.
 The smartphone browser needs to be configured to connect to the nonstop server.
Uninstall Considerations
Since all files are only installed on nonstop, i.e. nothing is installed on the client side, to uninstall the
product, stop all the processes running in the PVP subvolume (obey stoppvp) and purge all the files
in that subvolume (fup purge *). This will completely uninstall PVP.
1-3 Getting Started
Here is some of the basic information about your NonStop node that is needed before starting your
install:
 Node Name
 IP or Fully Qualified DNS Name
 Installation Volume and Subvolume (target directory)
 User Name and Password
 Location (volume-subvolume) where Web ViewPoint is installed
