Effect
The processor halts. The rest of the system is not affected.
Recovery
Refer to Processor Halt Monitoring and Recovery (page 10). Take a memory dump and contact
your service provider or the Global NonStop Solution Center (GNSC), as directed by your local
operating procedures.

An interrupt handler, an unstoppable process, or a system process received an invalid OSS
signal.
Effect
The processor halts. The rest of the system is not affected.
Recovery

operating procedures.

Cause
An unstoppable process experienced a page fault. The memory manager cannot retrieve the
page for one of the following reasons:
The swap file is on a disk which is down.
Both processors which control the disk the swap file is on are down.
Effect
The processor halts. The rest of the system is not affected.
Recovery
Check your disks. If the problem persists, contact your service provider.

No memory is available, or disk space cannot be allocated when an unstoppable process is
attempting to use an extensible segment.
