Cause
A free PCB is not present on the list of free PCBs.
Effect
The processor halts. The rest of the system is not affected.
Recovery
Refer to Processor Halt Monitoring and Recovery (page 10). After taking a memory dump, contact
your service provider or the Global NonStop Solution Center (GNSC), as directed by your local
operating procedures.

An attempt was made by the process to change an internal flag of another process.
Effect
The processor halts. The rest of the system is not affected.
Recovery

operating procedures.

An input/output (I/O) process used a nonexistent device address on a call to an operating-system
routine.
Effect
The processor halts. The rest of the system is not affected.

operating procedures.

Cause
Interrupts continue to occur on a channel that has shut down.
Effect
For single-channel systems, the processor halts to maintain data integrity. For multichannel
systems, the processor does not halt if only one channel shuts down.
Recovery

your service provider or the Global NonStop Solution Center (GNSC), as directed by your local
