Processor Halt Codes Manual
fails to boot to the PON Halt, then it must be replaced. If the MC_FAULT_CMC_ERR_EXCEEDED
halt code occurs again after this processor has been reloaded, then the processor should be
scheduled for replacement at the earliest convenience. Contact your service provider or the
Global NonStop Solution Center (GNSC), as directed by your local operating procedures.
%102537 MC_FAULT_IPU_STUCK
Cause
Millicode detected that at least one IPU in the NonStop Kernel logical processor appears to not
be making any progress; that is, it is not servicing interrupts and/or not running NSK processes.
Effect
The processor halts. The rest of the system is unaffected.
Recovery
Refer to Processor Halt Monitoring and Recovery (page 10). Take a memory dump. After the
dump completes, perform a "Hard Reset" on this NonStop Kernel logical processor. This reset
can be accomplished using the Onboard Administrator (OA) or OSM Low-Level Link (LLL). The
processor can be reloaded after it has come back up to the Power-On (PON) Halt (%100212
halt code). If the processor fails to come back up to the PON Halt, then it must be replaced. If
the subsequent attempt to reload the processor results in another halt, then the processor should
be scheduled for replacement at the earliest convenience. Contact your service provider or the
Global NonStop Solution Center (GNSC), as directed by your local operating procedures.
%102540 MC_FAULT_CANT_PASS_IP_TO_IP
Cause
The millicode detected an attempt to pass ownership of an Interrupt Process to the ActionAt
Interrupt Process.
Effect
The processor halts. The rest of the system is unaffected.
Recovery
Refer to Processor Halt Monitoring and Recovery (page 10). Take a memory dump and contact
your service provider or the Global NonStop Solution Center (GNSC), as directed by your local
operating procedures.
%102541 MC_FAULT_CANT_PASS_LOCK_HOLDER_TO_IP
Cause
The millicode detected an attempt to pass ownership of a process that is holding locks to the
ActionAt Interrupt Process.
Effect
The processor halts. The rest of the system is unaffected.
Recovery
Refer to Processor Halt Monitoring and Recovery (page 10). Take a memory dump and contact
your service provider or the Global NonStop Solution Center (GNSC), as directed by your local
operating procedures.
%102542 MC_FAULT_SFW_ACCESS_ERROR
Cause
A request made to the System Firmware (SFW) returned an unexpected error.
Effect
The processor halts. The rest of the system is unaffected.
