Tips
The region boundary is a movable point in the file. Whenever you use
a REGION command (other than FORWARD REGION and
BACKWARD REGION), the region boundary is no longer defined. To
place the region boundary in another position, enter DEFINEREGION
again.
As a text item, REGION can persist on the status line. (See “Persistent”
in this section.)
You can use REGION as a line range in the SEARCH and REPLACE
commands. For a description of SEARCH and REPLACE, refer to
Section 3.
Because a file’s maximum width is 239 characters, some of the text in a
region can extend beyond the viewing area of the terminal.
