Process Priority
Assignment
The PQDEFLTS file contains minimum and maximum process priority values for the
Wait Manager and the Entry Manager. The definition programs use these priority
values in assigning the process priorities. The following rules apply:
The maximum process priority (MAX) must be at least 9 greater than the
minimum process priority (MIN).
Any process priority value assigned by the definition programs is not less than
MIN nor greater than MAX.
Table 4-1 gives process priority values.

MIN is the minimum process priority (TRMinPriority parameter) specified in the define file.
PQDEFLTS File Description The rest of this section gives the contents of the PQDEFLTS file just as it appears on
your site update tape, DSV, ISV, user-DSV, and finally, the configuration subvolume
before any edits you make to the renamed version, the DEFINEPQ file.
The defaults file descriptions consist of commented listings. Parameters are described
in the order in which they appear in the file. Optional parameters not included in the
defaults file are described at the end of each file listing.
There are two types of parameters —reconfigurable and initialization.
Reconfigurable parameters are parameters that can be changed by redefining
Queue Manager and reconfiguring the system.
Initialization parameters are parameters that cannot be changed after Queue
Manager is initialized.
Note that one definition parameter specifies whether the Queue Manager is to be run
in a TRANSFER system or in another PATHWAY system.
Comments accompanying the parameters specify possible value ranges and whether
additional similar parameters can be inserted. The comments indicate whether
reconfigurable parameters are required or optional. All initialization parameters are
required unless specifically described as optional. Following is a copy of the file:
