Installation Summary This summary is a check list of steps for the initial installation of Queue Manager.
1. Configure TMF if it is not already configured.
2. Prepare the user-DSV as instructed in this section.
3. Log on with the user ID under which Queue Manager will run.
Copy the defaults (PQDEFLTS) file from the user-DSV to the configuration
subvolume.
Rename the file to DEFINEPQ and edit the file so it specifies parameters and
values appropriate for your system.
4. Enter the following command to clear parameter values set by a GUARDIAN 90
command interpreter PARAM command entered before running the definition
programs:
1> CLEAR ALL
Enter the following command to define the Queue Manager (CDPQDEF resides on
the Queue Manager user-DSV):
2> RUN CDPQDEF [$
vol
.]
cnfg-subvol
INITIAL
where cnfg-subvol is the configuration subvolume.
5. Enter the following command to initialize the Queue Manager: (Do this only for
the first installation or for reinitialization, not for redefinition; this purges any
existing Queue Manager database files.)
3> OBEY [$
vol
.]
cnfg-subvol
GPQINIT
where cnfg-subvol is the configuration subvolume..
Purge GPQINIT, GPQFUP, and GPQLOAD to reduce the possibility of
accidentally repeating OBEY GPQINIT and destroying data files.
6. Configure the PATHWAY entities for Queue Manager:
If Queue Manager is part of TRANSFER, run the XCNFG command or your own
PATHWAY configuration procedure.
If you are configuring Queue Manager as part of a PATHWAY system without
TRANSFER, execute your PATHWAY configuration procedure.
7. Enter the commands to cool start the Queue Manager PATHWAY system.
If Queue Manager is part of TRANSFER, you start Queue Manager when you start
TRANSFER, by executing the XCOOL command or your own PATHWAY
configuration procedure.
If you are configuring Queue Manager as part of a PATHWAY system without
TRANSFER, start Queue Manager by executing your PATHWAY configuration
procedure.
