Variant document definition
A document definition that represents one of several possible mappings of the same IDoc (as described in
a base document definition), and that uses a distinctive value of some IDoc header element (defined as
the "selector") to specify which mapping to use.
Warning threshold
The number of tags, in an inbound XML document, that will cause a warning to the effect that the
document is almost too large. (Compare Abort threshold.) You set this threshold in the properties file or
in the management client.
webMethods
A major provider of enterprise application integration (EAI) software. The webMethods Integration
Server supports connection of remote enterprise applications with the NonStop Server by way of adapters
and built-in services. The webMethods Developer is a graphical user interface for designing flow
services.
XI
See Exchange Infrastructure.
XML
Extensible Markup Language. A standard for tagging elements of a document so as to specify not the
visual presentation of elements, as in HTML, but element semantics. For example, an HTML tag could
indicate that text should be underlined; an XML tag could indicate that the text represented a customer
name.
XML IDoc
An SAP Intermediate Document in XML format. The Director requires IDocs to be in this format.
