Real Time Information Director User Documentation

which they are entitled. Furthermore, it is crucial to be able to verify who accessed or modified what
information at what time.
To support these demands, the Director supports
Metadata to describe security relationships and policies
Data tables for security-related data
Features that permit auditing of interactions with the data store
For more information, see the document entitled RTID Security and Auditing.
Management Facilities
The Director includes an interface for loading metadata, reloading the database schema, monitoring
performance, and setting various operational parameters. You can use the management client provided
with the Director or write your own client in Java to invoke the management functions.
The management interface supports a range of statistics gathering options, useful for performance
evaluation and tuning:
Summary statistics, statistics broken down by database table, or operations history (optionally
including time spent on individual operations)
Statistics for a document type, or for all document types collectively
Statistics can be included in XML responses to update documents, displayed on the console, or harvested
to an XML file.
For more information about these features, see the document entitled RTID Management.
Client Software
Client software varies widely from solution to solution.
Apart from a set of test drivers, the Real Time Supply Chain solution does not include clients that
simulate the activity of supply-chain applications.
The EHR demonstration includes clients that simulate the activity of clinical and administrative systems
and eHealth environments:
A web-based healthcare portal application allows patient and other user access to data in the EHR
data store. This interface can be used for queries but also to add data to the data store, for example,
to register a person as a participant in the EHR network.
A security management client can be used for control and verification of the security and auditing
systems.
