Messages Reported From the Host
6503
A RECEIVE has completed on a closed socket: <socket number>.
Cause. The socket closed, probably because of a client shutdown or a network
outage.
Effect. None.
Recovery. This message is informational only. No corrective action is necessary.
6504
TCPIP Receive - Size: <message size>, Type: <message type>.
Cause. The received message could not be processed because of an invalid message
type (because of network errors) or because of inadequate TDP buffer space.
Effect. The message was discarded.
Recovery. Correct network problems, or, if memory failure occurred, reduce the size
of TDP configuration by removing objects from the TDP. If all objects are required,
start anothe r TDP.
6505
TCPIP Send - Size: <message size>, Type: <message type>.
Cause. The message to be sent could not be processed because of inadequate TDP
buffer space.
Effect. The message was discarded.
Recovery. Reduce size of the TDP configuration by removing objects from the TDP. If
all objects are required, start another TDP.
6506
A connection reset on socket <socket> was issued by the
client.
Cause. The client requested a normal shutdown and a connection reset.
Effect. The socket was closed and the workstation has disconnected the session with
the TDP.
Recovery. Fix your network or your application.
