Abstract
This manual describes the operation of the Subsystem Control Facility (SCF) on
G-series release version updates (RVUs) and how it is used to configure, control, and
inquire about supported subsystems. SCF is the configuration and management tool
used by persons responsible for configuring and monitoring the status of objects on HP
NonStop™ systems.

This manual supports G06.22 and all subsequent G-series RVUs until otherwise
indicated in a new edition.

New and Changed Information
This edition of the SCF Reference Manual for G-Series RVUs has been revised to
include the following new or changed features:
•
The HP NonStop Open System Management (OSM) product replaces Compaq
TSM as the system management tool of choice for NonStop S-series systems.
OSM offers a browser-based interface that improves scalability and performance
and overcomes other limitations that exist in TSM. TSM is still supported, but OSM
is required to support new functionality in G06.21 and later.
Operating procedures and descriptions in this manual have been updated to
include the use of the OSM applications in addition to the TSM applications.
