Features of MIGSCF
Features of MIGSCF
The MIGSCF utility uses the following modes to convert COUP and PUP commands to
SCF commands:
In addition, MIGSCF provides the following added functions:
•
MIGSCF produces a conversion report for command-line mode (described on
page C-18) and batch mode (described on page C-22) that contains all messages
generated in the course of converting the input commands to their SCF
equivalents. See page C-21 for information about the conversion report format.
•
MIGSCF provides substitute macros for the COUP and PUP utilities on G-series
RVUs. See How MIGSCF Handles Obsolete PUP and COUP Commands on
page C-14for more information.
•
To help identify files for MIGSCF conversion, you can use the FINDER utility to
identify all files on the system that contain PUP and COUP commands. See
page C-26 for more information.
•
The MIGSCF information in this appendix and the MIGSCF warning and error
messages are provided in a text file located at $SYSTEM.ZMIGSCF.MANUAL.
You can print this file with TGAL, or you can view and search the write-protected
text by using TEDIT.
•
MIGSCF can identify PUP and COUP commands within TACL code in the
following types of files:
°
TACL command files
°
TACL libraries
°
TACL macros and routines
MIGSCF passes TACL comments to the converted file without being changed.
What MIGSCF Does Not Do
The MIGSCF utility has the following limitations:
•
MIGSCF does not process TACL expressions (such as #intrinsics and statement
expansions in square brackets). MIGSCF issues a warning message and passes
them to the converted file without being changed. HP recommends that you do not
use MIGSCF to convert files containing complex TACL code.
